MARYBETH ORTON,

Marybeth Orton is a Licensed Art Therapist. She received her master’s degree in Expressive Therapies from the University of Louisville in 1993, specializing in art therapy with groups and grief/trauma.

Since that time, she has pursued certification in Havening Techniques, EMDR therapy, Sandtray therapy and PEAT. She utilizes these modalities in her private practice – Creating Changes Counseling, LLC – along with Animal Assisted Interventions/Therapy, play therapy, MARI, and Level II Reiki.

Marybeth worked for over 13 years at one of the largest non-profit psychiatric hospitals in the country, where she utilized art therapy with all ages. In 2006, she left the hospital to become the Clinical Coordinator/Lecturer of the Art Therapy Program at the University of Louisville.
